Our First attempt at French cooking

Lately, Abby has been in love with 'Ratatouille'. We have not seen the movie, but are reading the chapter book, and she found a mouse finger puppet she has named 'Ratatouille' and carries everywhere. We've listend to the soundtrack, and even have the cookbook from the library. In the story, Remy is a french rat, who becomes a gourmet chef. Ratatouille is actually a French Mediterranean stew. The kids and I shopped for the all vegetable ingredients this afternoon and then the kids helped cut everything up. It was delicious!

p.s. Maybe Daddy can show them the recipe for his famous graham cracker dessert that he made when he was their age. He'd make it right after lunch and let it sit until supper when we all enjoyed graham crackers soaked in water and covered with chocolate sauce. We ate this delicacy EVERY DAY for about a year!

Looks like the kids are ready to do all the mincing required in making our famous meatloaf! Having all those hands to cut sure would cut down on the day long preparations! Next time we make it, I'll have you send them out!

Love you all!
