We are Thankful

We are thankful for so much. We enjoyed a quiet day at home that included a wonderful "small" turkey dinner with just the 5 of us at noon. Followed by naps by all 5 of us! This evening we had a wonderful time at the Bonnema's. We were blessed with grandma Bonnema's presence after being quite ill for several weeks. The kids have enjoyed so much the "gratitude chain" this month. We have had family send us rings with what they are thankful for written on it. We will move it from the kitchen to the Christmas tree to remind us to be thankful all season long. I am so thankful that my kids understand what it means to be thankful this season. Some of the things they are thankful for are: their blankies, their bed, their house, their teachers, their daddy, snuggling with mommy...... Priceless.
"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good." Happy Thanksgiving friends.

Baby Nathan

Isn't he amazing!!??

Happy Thanksgiving Eve

We had a wonderful day making Thanksgiving crafts and starting some food. For the first time ever we made a pumpkin pie from scratch (real scratch...from pumpkin). It was fun for the kids to see the process (and mash the pumpkin). We also made cornbread for stuffing and cranberry orange bread. Looking forward to a wonderful weekend. So much to be thankful for....

More fun!

Martha and the kids were here again for a few days. We packed in a lot of fun! Friday Martha and I were able to attend the HJWL luncheon thanks to our wonderful sitter from Hope and Joan :). We had a blast being out without kids! Saturday we saw Sinterklaas at Dutch Village. It was great! The only bummer of the time was my kids (and eventually Martha's) coming down with colds/coughs. Unfortunatly two of mine were home sick from school today for the Thanksgiving celebration. I worked at school, and had a wonderful time with Abby. We had a full out feast! Thankfully, Martha watched the other kids at home. They were sad to miss out on the fun, but their wonderful Auntie held "school" here at home. I came home to see their creations and hear their stories. I am thankful for my sister.

A new reason to be thankful

This morning at 8:01 am my new nephew arrived. His name is Nathan Young McDaniel. He is not "small" as the dr. predicted, and weighed in at 7lbs 5oz. My parents are in Florida and were able to see him shortly after he was born. Laura is recovering and sounded so happy when she called with the news. I don't have any pictures yet, but did see one on my phone, and he is amazing. We are thankful!
