I'm back!

Sorry for the absence! My camera was in "the shop" for a week. Looking at the pictures now, I'm not sure it's working any better.... Oh well. We've been having fun, staying warm, and actively counting the days until my little miracles turn 5! 8 days. Where does time go?

Lots of fun!!

Since my last post we've been having lots of fun!! Last Wednesday I worked at preschool, as usual we had a wonderful time! Martha and the kids were here Thurs-Sun while Tom had a wonderful vacation in Vegas. We had a great time hanging out, playing, reading, cooking, and knitting! The kids are so amazing together, it's priceless! Friday afternoon I took my cooped up, stir crazy, climbing the walls kids to an amazing place. 'For the Kidz' gymnastics facility in Wyoming, Mi. They have 'open gymnastics' on Friday afternoon, and it was the best $24 I've ever spent! The kids LOVED it! Their smiles, and the pictures say it all! We're happy to have Tom home safe and sound!

Violin

Abby REALLY wanted a violin for Christmas (since her preschool teacher brought hers in earlier this fall). We looked in to it, and spoke to this same teacher who also happens to teach the violin and Santa made it happen! Sophie was also excited to learn. Last night was their first lesson. It was darling! They learned the parts of the violin, how to hold it, and how to "Pick" the D and the A strings. Precious!

Florida

I just got home from a wonderful 4 days in Florida with my mom, my sister, and her new baby (her hubby too). My nephew Nathan is amazing, adorable, curious, smart, snuggly, and perfect! I adored every minute I was able to snuggle him(which I did a lot!). I also adored watching my baby sister be an amazing mom. She is so natural and I am so proud of her. The weather was amazing, the views priceless, we ate, we relaxed at a spa (awesome!), we knitted, I read, we chatted, we shopped, we enjoyed every moment we spent together.
Thank you to my in laws for the Christmas gift that enabled me to go. Thank you to my hubby for taking such good care of my sweet little ones while I was gone.
Enjoy!

Pay it Forward

Calling all crafters! One of the things I enjoy doing in my "free" time is searching for knitting websites/blogs. Late one night I stumbled upon a wonderful one in Texas http://theknittingden.blogspot.com/. That day she had started a "Pay it Forward" challenge. The first three people who left a comment would receive a hand knitted item from her. In return they must do the same on their blogs. Even though I didn't know her, I left a comment and since then we have enjoyed getting to "know" each other through our blogs. Today I received beautifully knitted cable fingerless gloves. I'll post a picture soon. So, today I am starting the same challenge on my blog. The first three people who leave me a comment will receive a hand knitted item from me. In return, you must place the same challenge on your blog, and so it goes. What a great way to spread homemade love and blessings. I don't think I have many knitters who check my blog, so I will open it up to any homemade/handmade craft item that you are willing to pass on. Looking forward to seeing who is up for it!

Let me explain...

First of all, Noah started Hockey skating last night. Tom said he did great, and had a smile on his face the entire time! Noah especially loved when they made them fall down and taught them how to get back up! What a riot! (Noah has on a red coat with black helmet)
Today was the rescheduled Christmas program at preschool. I was so happy that they rescheduled it at all, and especially before I leave for Florida (Thurs-Sun) :) I planned to put the kids in their darling Christmas outfits for the occasion. Then, I read the school calendar, today is "Wacky Wednesday, please dress Wacky" it said. Ugh, ok. So, against my better judgement my kids went to school with their clothes on backwards, and mis matched socks. They even wore each others coats. We arrived at drop off to see 99% of the class dressed in shiny new Christmas outfits, NOT wacky clothes. I admit it, I cried a little. So, in the pictures, and video, mine are the kids NOT in their darling Christmas outfits. Is there a reward for the mommy that follows directions? Oh well, bottom line is, they were darling no matter what they wore. I was so proud of my sheep, donkey, and wiseman.
I tried all day to upload my video and it didn't work. Sorry!

Happy 2009!

Our second week of Christmas break flew by! We LOVED having daddy home for 16 days! The kids are spoiled rotten! We had the chance to be lazy for a few days, do a great cleaning of our house, celebrate New Year's Eve with our wonderful friends the Bolt's, and travel to Livonia to play at Cranbrook's Science Museum and celebrate Gordie's baptism. It was wonderful! The kids are excited to go back to school tomorrow, Tom isn't so excited to return to work, but is deeply greatful to have a job to go back to. As for me, I'm looking forward to a little peace and quiet when the kids are in school, but truly it doesn't get much better than having your family home together for the holidays! I'm a bit sad to see it end! Happy 2009!
