The Bonnema Infirmary

My poor kiddos! Two of the three (it's only a matter of time for Abby) have come down with Hand-Foot-Mouth "disease". They are doing ok (even played outside a bit before naps) except for having very very sore mouths! They are a bit pickier about what they will eat and drink, and have a difficult time sleeping. I can't blame them! Nothing the doctor can do, but give suggestions on ways to ease their discomfort. They expect it to last about 5 days. Prayers for a quick, painless recovery for my sweethearts!

Fun!

Today the DeYoung's came from Grand Rapids for the farmer's market. We had a wonderful time shopping for fruit and veggies in the hot sun! It's always wonderful to see them! This afternoon the kids tried out their new aprons from Seattle when we made cookies. Another wonderful summer day!

Tuesday Puppet Shows!

Most Tuesday's we enjoy a puppet show at Baker Book house in Holland. The kids have a blast calling the puppets on to stage, watching the show, singing songs, giving the puppets a picture they made, and picking a 'prize' from the treasure box. They have even taken to re-inacting the entire show at home in the living room! It's been fun for me to see their pride as their picture is complimented in front of all the kids, and their independence as they go to the front to pick their prize. In today's pictures, Abby had already returned to my side with her prize when the photo took :) They are getting so big!

Fun Weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend in Livonia. The Tiger game was fun, but had a disappointing outcome! Always fun to be there cheering though! The kids spent quite a bit of time playing in my parents' basement (the girls donning old dance costumes the entire weekend) and at the park! The weekend ended with a wonderful birthday dinner for Tori at the Bonnema's. We love our family!

Fun times and new goggles!

Noah earned his new goggles (I won't go in to details..) yesterday, and was very excited to shop for them and try them out at the pool! Today we went to the Grandville mall with our friends and the kids had a blast riding the carousel! We're off to Detroit tomorrow for our last Tiger game of the season! Go Tigers!

The Circus!!

We spent the day preparing for our fun evening at the circus! We read circus stories, looked at circus pictures on the internet, and even painted vertical lines to look like the 'big top' By tonight, the kids were so excited they could hardly stand it! We had a wonderful time at the circus in Grand Haven. It was VERY hot in the 'big top' but the kids did great! We followed it up with a dinner at 'Butch's Beach Burritos' What fun!

Beatuiful day!

We spent several hours at the park on this beautiful (and a bit cool) morning! This afternoon/evening we went up to Mona Lake to a family party with Tom's co-workers. The kids had a blast climbing and playing all day long!!

Since the kids' cousin, baby Adelee, left they have been feeling very maternal. Their 'babies' have been spending time in the bouncy seat, car seats, and strollers! It's darling!

Life just got a little easier!

One of my goals for the summer was to teach my kids to pump themselves on the swings! 2 down 1 to go!

Camping in Pentwater!

We did it...sort of... We had a wonderful weekend camping with my family in Pentwater! The kids were great during the days, and even slept pretty well in the tent at night. It was dirty and relaxing and fun! Saturday night, after a couple of relaxing hours at the campfire (without kids!) we had a little drama though. I had a reaction to something I ate AND it started to thunder, sirens and all. SO, as is our trend, we packed up (in the rain) at 4:30 am and drove home. Oh well, I'm feeling better and we still had an amazing weekend! Thanks for the prayers! I'm still calling it a success! Maybe next year we'll acutally make it two nights until the sun comes up!

Camping we will go....

We are off tomorrow for a family camping trip in Pentwater. Some may recall that we tried this last year only to end up driving home at 2 am with unhappy kids. Are we crazy? Perhaps, but we are off to try again...in a tent. We are excited to see my sisters from LA (and baby Adelee), and Florida this weekend too. Prayers are appreciated!!
