Carving Pumpkins!

Even though the girls are still under the weather, and my eyes are recovering (but doing awesome!), we had a fun weekend with my parents. Tonight we carved our pumpkin! What fun to have the kids so in to it!!

Airplane

On my way to the bathroom to pick up my eyedrops, something in the living room caught my eye... (which now officially has 20/20 vision according to my appointment this morning) could it be an airplane.... I kid you not, they built and came up with this totally on their own.

The surgery went well, and was quick and virtually pain free. After a 3 hour nap at home, I'm seeing amazingly well. I feel great. It really is a miracle of modern medicine. Thank you for all the prayers and calls. Continue prayers for a full recovery! No picture, but my eyes are little red and puffy, that's all! But, you might get a giggle out of the 'raquetball' goggles I have to sleep in :)

Tomorrow is the day...

My Lasik eye surgery was moved up to tomorrow. We are scheduled to arrive at 8am, and hope to be on our way home with my 'new eyes' by 11 or 12. Prayers that I can stay relaxed and that it all goes well (and actually happens this time :) ) are appreciated.
The kiddos are fighting another fever/cold this week. So far, Noah is doing fine, but the girls are under the weather. Little Sophie has NO voice, it's sad/pathetic and pretty funny... Prayers for them too!

Spanish

The kids have a Spanish 'tutor' on Friday afternoons. They have a great time, and are learning some words from a native speaker (who isn't Dora or Diego!). What a riot!

AND in other news: I have been given the green light to get lasik eye surgery. My surgeon shared my case with several other doctors, and they feel I am a perfect candidate. I'm scheduled for Friday November 2. Yippee!!

What a fun age, they are all starting to have different interests! What joys!

More Apples!

Today we headed back to Fennville to pick apples again. It felt like fall, with cool temps and a light drizzle. We had a wonderful time with our friends!

Holding on to summer!

Temps were in the 80's again today! We spent a wonderful afternoon with our friends the Falkowski's on their boat. The kids were so excited that we got to take the boat in to Lake Michigan to a swimming cove. It was amazing!

Sunday after church the kids helped Tom make a fabulous pizza. Yes, some toppings actually ended up on the pizza! We purchased the crust, fresh sauce, and many of the ingredients the day before at the Farmer's Market! Happy October!
