A Big Step

The new quilts arrived this afternoon!! They are perfect!

Tonight we packed away the girls crib/toddler beds and tucked them in to their new bunk beds. They are getting so big right before my eyes! Needless to say Noah is a bit jealous of their new set up!

PS Thanks to Bill and Joan for the mattresses and in advance to my parents for the new quilts (that haven't arrived yet) :)

At the Beach!!

It's hard to believe, but we spent an hour at the beach in Holland yesterday. Temps were 'mild' for December and the kids had a blast playing in the sand! The sunshine and sand felt great, even through hats and down coats!

Christmas Party at "Little Hands"

We had a Christmas party at our Wednesday morning play class, "Little Hands, Big Ideas" The kids had a blast. We made wreaths, "wrapped presents", taped the nose on rudolph, ate, and did a book exchange. What fun!! Don't the girls look adorable in their shirts? Truer words were never spoken.

More fun

Here are some photos of the kids from our weekend. Friday we decorated cookies with friends at "Ms. Tonia's" house (which was TONS of fun until Abby had a GIANT meltdown and we had to evacuate...). Saturday night on our way home from the Race we had the Brummel Family Christmas Party at South Christian. It was wonderful to see everyone and celebrate Christmas! Check out more running photos below as well.

I did it!

More photos (from my parents):

Blowing the kids a kiss as I run past!

Rounding the corner for a strong finish!

Thank you for the prayers, pledges, and support, today, I completed the 10K for Arthritis!! The run was a bit 'hillier' than I expected (it was in Bloomfield HILLS however), but it went very well. My parents, Tom, and the kids were there cheering me on (Burr)! I finished somewhere around 57-58 minutes, which made me very happy because I am a 10 minute mile girl (the run was 6.2 miles). I may have more pictures to post later, but here are a couple. Thank you all for your support!

Prayers!

Tomorrow is my 10K Run for Arthritis in Bloomfield Hills. I am running in memory of my wonderful grandma Eleanora Low. I've had a cold this week, and temps are supposed to top off in the mid 20's tomorrow, so extra prayers would be wonderful. I'll let you know how it goes!

Good Times!

Tonight our wonderful friends the DeYoung's made the treck from the other side of GR to visit for dinner. We had a wonderful time "playing" with them! I'm not sure who played the hardest the kids, Tom, or Chris :) Needless to say, all 5 kids melted down for one reason or another around 8:30, but it didn't spoil our wonderful night (It did cause discussion of a 'kid free' dinner out however...)

Imagination

Today I found Noah 'water-skiing' in the girls bedroom. The girls also enjoy using their imagination to play!

Sinterklaas Eve

We enjoyed a fun night downtown Holland tonight celebrating Sinterklaas Eve, a Dutch tradition. Sinterklaas rides in to town on a white horse, and the town celebrates. After a chilly parade we headed to Alpen Rose for cookies and hot chocolate (the kids first one). It was wonderful!
