Our First attempt at French cooking

Lately, Abby has been in love with 'Ratatouille'. We have not seen the movie, but are reading the chapter book, and she found a mouse finger puppet she has named 'Ratatouille' and carries everywhere. We've listend to the soundtrack, and even have the cookbook from the library. In the story, Remy is a french rat, who becomes a gourmet chef. Ratatouille is actually a French Mediterranean stew. The kids and I shopped for the all vegetable ingredients this afternoon and then the kids helped cut everything up. It was delicious!

Here are some pictures the kids drew today. Abby melted my heart when drawing a huge similing face on the chalkboard and saying, this is mommy because she has a happy face. Sigh.

Our first trip to the Dentist

This was a big day! The kids visited the dentist for the first time. Our wonderful friend (who happens to be married to the dentist) Kate Bolt went with us. The kids did pretty well, especially Noah who stayed with Ms. Kate so I could sit with Abby on the other side of the room! "Dr. Dan" went to high school with Tom, and was fabulous with the kids. What an adventure!

First Day of "Little Hands Big Ideas"

Today we started our play class up again. The kids were excited to be back and see their friends. I was excited to see how independent they have become with art projects! It was wonderful!
Tom and I are off to New York City Thursday-Saturday. We are excited for a weekend away together. Of course, I miss the kids already when I think about being gone! I know they are going to have a blast with grandma and grandpa Mosher (thanks mom and dad!)

Last day at the pool

They re-opened the pool this week due to the summer-like temps. The kids LOVED being back in the water! What little fish (or turtles if you ask Abby) they became this summer!

Grandma's Big Night!

Tom took his brother Steve, his dad Bill, and his VERY excited grandma to a suite at the Tiger game last night. Grandma didn't sleep for days before the game, and is reported to not to have slept last night after the game either! She was 're-living every moment'. It was an amazing time for all!

Budding Artists

Over the past few days we've seen the girls changing in to budding artists. They can sit and color for up to 30 minutes at a time. Then taking a short break, only to return to the same picutre. It's darling! I've even enjoyed sitting down and coloring with them (I love the book 'Praying in Color'). Needless to say, sweet Noah just doesn't have the attention span. He will join in for a few minutes at a time though, as well as check in with their progress!

Back in action!

We enjoyed a healthy Saturday today! Yeah! Abby still woke up several times last night, but she seems to be nearly 100% today! Praise the Lord! Tom took all three kids to pick up donuts this morning, reinacting a tradition from his childhood. Then we headed to the mall to 'meet' Bob the Builder. It was a little different than we expected, and of course after waiting in line for 30 minutes, the kids decided they didn't want to meet him, but we made the most of it! This afternoon we started the process of turning the 'guest bedroom' in to Noah's room. We still have a long ways to go, but the ball is rolling. Go State! Go Tigers!

On the road to recovery!

As of today, Sophie and Noah are pretty much better! Praise the Lord! Abby is still having very rough nights, and difficulty eating. She still manages to have pretty good days though. We've got to be close to having 3 healthy kiddos back! This one is teaching endurance that's for sure!

On the Run!

I'm back on the wagon! Today marks the start of my training for another 10K. The kids helped me stretch before my first run. Just like when they were younger! What a riot! The run is in December, and I'm really excited!

Infirmary update: Noah and Sophie are doing pretty well during the day. They still are in a bit of pain and don't sleep well at night (we're all getting a little tired!). Today sweet Abby came down with it as well. She took a good nap, and her fever is down this evening. Prayers again for the end to this nasty bug! We are thankful to have my parents in town to help out this weekend!

GO STATE!!

What a great start for my Spartans today! Tom, Steve, Deven, Tyler, and my dad enjoyed the victory in person! Hmmm, what happened in Ann Arbor today (tee-hee)??
